It's Friday, I'm in Love

I have recently developed a new celebrity crush. This doesn't happen very often. I know you may not believe me, especially those who know how pop culture and celebrity information sticks in my head, but it is true. For the most part celebrities drive me nuts, but every so often one comes along that attracts my attention.

Sings tiny operas to my soul, if you will (seriously, that is the only thing I could figure this plate meant). Like I said, there aren't many. Today's Friday Five are my top five celebrity/character crushes over the years. I always seem to remember them in the Spring... Here's the list:

1. The Incredible Hulk. I'm not talking Dr. David Banner either, I'm talking about his big green alter ego. Even though I was little when this show was on, I still remember waiting for the hulk to appear. I know it's weird, but I wouldn't tell you if it weren't true. I think it was because he was so strong. Anyway, Lou Ferrigno still holds a special place in my heart.
   
   
2. Mark-Paul Gosselaar, aka Zach Morris. I know, he was an obvious tween Tiger Beat pin up, but I liked him when he was on Good Morning Miss Bliss, even before Saved by the Bell. To this day I like the middle school, freshman, and sophomore high school Zach Morris years best.
   
   
3. Brendan Frasier. No Encino Man jokes please. I actually started liking Mr. Frasier when he starred in School Ties with Chris O'Donnell (and Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Chris Hauser...). Chris O'Donnell was the original celebrity crush, but it quickly transferred to Brendan Frasier when I heard him singing 'Smokey Joe's Cafe'. That man can move! Plus, in so many of his other roles he seemed like a bit of a geek, and you know me and geeks. I totally wanted to hang out with him when I was in high school. I know his movie career since School Ties has been directed towards family entertainment, but that actually makes me like him more.
   
   
4. Michael Vartan. He is pretty much the reason I watched Alias. Okay, that's not true, Sidney Bristow rocked, but having cute agent Michael Vaughan as her handler totally helped. He was tough, and smart, and made Sidney work hard, but he could be sensitive, too. I didn't actually watch the last season because they killed him off (or so they led you to believe, from what I hear...).
   
   
5. Nathan Fillion. He's my newest celebrity crush. He has played parts here and there, but it wasn't until I started watching Castle, the ABC mid-season show, that I started paying more attention. He totally reminds me of Bruce Willis in Moonlighting (although it has been awhile and I don't remember everything about Moonlighting) -- he is a little geeky and smart and funny. So far the show has been fairly clean, too, which I always like. I'm smiling just thinking about some of his lines. If I still had them recorded Jacqui, I would make you watch them over and over. Classic.

Little Operas, I tell ya. Well, not the Incredible Hulk so much anymore, but I'm guessing there are some pretty cringe worthy celebrity crushes you are harboring. Go ahead and get them off your chest, it would make me feel better about the green guy. I hope you have a good weekend.
